The Beagle Club of Queensland has finally been able to secure a lure coursing event for 2022. Due to the wet weather over the past few months, the club has been unable to hold any lure coursing in 2022 but we are now in a position to have our first lure coursing event for the year.
The lure coursing day will be held on Saturday the 16th July at the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club, Old Cleveland Road, Capalaba. The morning will commence from 7:30am for registration, with the first of the runs commencing at 8:30am.
This event will be a sprint event, so each beagle will be timed over a distance of 100 metres on the straight greyhound racing track. There will be prizes for the top three times in each of our categories. Beagles can be entered in the novice (for dogs that have run at three or less lure coursing meets), open (for those beagles who have run at more than three meets) and veteran (for beagles 7 or over).
The sprints will be held in conjunction with the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club and the Queensland Lure Coursing Association. There will be other breeds running on the day, so it will be great to see many dogs of different breeds running and enjoying the event.
Entries will be $5.00 per dog. There will be raffles and food available as well.
After the last run (and time permitting), we will have a beagle pack run down the straight, which is always a great spectacle.
